Finalist Filming Information
Your guide to being filmed
Congratulations once again for being selected as a finalist at this year’s Full Circle and Reconciliation Awards.
We are excited to capture and share your story at the upcoming gala dinner, and we want to ensure that the filming process is comfortable and enjoyable for you. To assist with preparations, please read the important information below.
1 - Filming details
Date and Time: The Recognition Team will be in touch to organise a suitable date and time, and will send a calendar invitation to confirm. Depending on the location and number of people participating, filming will take between 60 – 90 minutes (including questions and time for the crew to shoot overlay).
Location: The Recognition Team will be in touch to organise a suitable location and will send a calendar invitation to confirm. To best set the scene for your story, we would greatly appreciate your advice on the most suitable location. E.g. onsite at a facility, at a client’s house or in your office. Please let us know the most convenient place, taking into account any relevant permissions, that would help bring your story to life. See bullet point 4 below, for more information on setting the scene.
Talent: If you are an individual, the film crew will only require your interview. If you are part of a team, please select 1-2 members of your team to be interviewed on behalf of the group. It is too difficult to incorporate multiple interviewees in a short 1-minute video.
Film Crew: Our experienced and professional film crew will be on-site to capture your story and guide you through the process. They have filmed the Full Circle finalist videos for the last few years and are very familiar with the work we do. If the crew require any special approvals to film at your nominated site, please advise recognition@ucareqld.com.au as soon as possible, so our team may arrange the necessary requirements.
2 - What to wear
Please wear something that makes you feel comfortable and/or a uniform if appropriate.
Avoid clothing with busy patterns or logos that may distract from your story - solid colours work well on camera.
3 - Preparation tips
Think about your story: Reflect on key moments and experiences you'd like to share. Please refer to your nomination story (attached in your calendar invitation) to give you an idea of the qualities you or your team have been recognised for.
Practice your key points: While we want your story to feel authentic, a bit of preparation can help you feel more confident on camera. Please refer to the below questions as a guide:
· Where do you work and what is your role?
· How long have you been doing this role/working for UC?
· What do you do day to day?
· Why were you nominated?
· Why do you love doing what you do?
· How does it make you feel to know you’re making a meaningful difference?
· What does it mean to you to be a finalist?
Relax and be yourself: The more relaxed you are, the more authentic and compelling your story will be.
4 - Setting the scene
Please coordinate some members of your team or key stakeholders to be involved in the filming – this will be included in the overlay footage, and forward the calendar invitation to them.
Consider any photos, mementos, props or visual aids that could enhance your narrative, or feel free to suggest any specific details or elements that will help tell your story accurately. Please upload any photos to this link here.
Our film crew will work with you to create a comfortable and natural environment.
5 - Talent Release form
In preparation to be filmed, please ask anyone who will be filmed to complete the attached Talent Release Form and return to catherine.vo@ucareqld.com.au by Friday, 6 September 2024.
By signing this form, you agree and consent to your footage being used at the Full Circle and Reconciliation Awards night, as well as any additional internal and/or external communications, marketing and promotional advertising for UnitingCare and the charities under its brand name. This may include but is not limited to: videos on Workplace; videos shared through external social media like Facebook or LinkedIn; posters; newsletters and advertising materials.
